NOTE: To install the SafeAssignment 2.0 (codename Papyrus) building block, you need to be logged in as a Blackboard administrator and have the latest version of the SafeAssignment building block downloaded to your hard drive.
The SafeAssignment 2.0 building block requires Blackboard 6.2.3 or higher.
1. To start the building block installation, open the System Admin tab.
2. Click on the "Manage Building Blocks" link located in the "Blackboard Building Blocks Management" menu section.

3. If you are performing a SafeAssignment version upgrade, please completely remove the current version of the building block before installing a new one. All assignments and submitted papers will remain intact after the upgrade.
4. Click on the "Install Building Block" button located below the "Manage Building Blocks" page title.

5. Click on the "Browse" button and select the SafeAssignment building block installation file (usually the "papyrus-2.x.x.zip" file), which should be downloaded to your disk in advance. Please note that you should not un-zip the file before installation. Then click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page, and the package will be installed. Once the installation process is completed, the building block will be listed in the main "Manage Building Blocks" menu.

6. To make SafeAssignment available to all users, change its status to "Available" in the "Availability" pull-down menu. After selecting the "Available" option click "OK" on the page that appears.

7. Click on the "Properties" button to configure the SafeAssignment building block.
8. Enter the login, password and join code into the appropriate boxes. If your Blackboard server is connected to the Internet through a proxy server, switch the "Use proxy" radio button to "Yes" and fill in your proxy server hostname and port (as well as the login and password if your proxy requires authentication).

9. Please consult with your network administrator regarding connection availability from your campus network to SafeAssignment backend server, as this is crucial for system operation. You should make sure that connection to the service described below is allowed at least from your Blackboard server:
Host: bbis.mydropbox.com (204.11.50.5)
Port: TCP 80 (HTTP)
10. In the Release Statement section, you can enter the text that will be automatically added to every Safe Assignment description created in your Blackboard system. You can use it to warn students that their papers will be checked for plagiarism. Leave this field blank if you do not want to use this option.
11. Under Privacy Settings, there is an option that allows you to specify whether instructors can see Student IDs in the table listing submitted papers. If you prefer to keep student IDs private, turn this option on.
12. When you finish configuring the Building Block, click on the "Submit" button to save settings.
13. If everything was entered correctly and your Blackboard server can successfully connect to SafeAssignment back-end server you should see the same configuration form but with "Connection Status: Established" sign at the top.

Now you should have the SafeAssignment Building Block installed and available to all Blackboard users within your institution.
